2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28

GM designers have afforded the 2014 model with newly styled front and rear ends, which are supposed to make the Camaro look more contemporary and bring it closer to Chevy’s original sports car, the Corvette Stingray.

Up front, the latest Camaro gains a sleeker and less macho look via a narrower upper grille opening adorned with a chrome trim piece and slimmer headlamps, along with a re-sculptured bumper and a new functional vent positioned on the hood instead of the mail-box-like slit on the SS models.

Moving to the rear, the first thing that catches your attention are the new one-piece LED headlamps that are completely different than those found on the European-spec Camaro, with inspiration likely coming from the 1967 and 1969 Camaros (instead of the 1968-style split units of the outgoing 2013 model).

Chevrolet also redesigned the trunk that is now fitted with a third-stop light and in some models, with a spoiler that looks like its flowing on top. Rounding out the changes at the back is the new diffuser in black that has grown in height reaching the center of the license plate.

The LS7-powered Z/28 is a street-legal sports car tuned for the track and it slots between the 426hp 1LE and the 580hp ZL1, which have yet to be revealed in facelift trim.

The Z/28 benefits from a number of weight saving measures including manual adjustments for the front seats, modified rear seat section that is nine pounds (four kilograms) lighter, and 19-inch diameter wheels and tires, which reduce unsprung weight by 42 pounds (19 kilograms) per car compared to the 20-inch wheels standard on Camaro SS and ZL1.

Other notable features include the standard Recaro seats with microfiber suede inserts, a special aero package designed to produce downforce at track speeds, a limited-slip differential featuring a helical gear set, rather than traditional clutch packs, huge 305/30ZR19 Pirelli PZero Trofeo R tires and a braking system comprised of Brembo Carbon Ceramic Matrix rotors and fixed, monoblock calipers. Additional chassis changes include stiffer string rates and suspension bushings for improved cornering response.

2014 Cadillac CTS

For the first time since the inception of the CTS, the new model is now positioned squarely against the likes of the Audi A6, BMW 5-Series as well as newer rivals such as the Jaguar XF.

The new CTS has grown five inches (127 mm) in length, reaching 195.5 inches (4,966mm) and features a 1.2-inch (30mm) longer wheelbase, but at the same time, the roofline and the base of the windshield are about an inch lower, contributing to a more aggressive stance.

Inside, you’ll find the same design language as on other contemporary Cadillacs like the ATS and SRX, with the Detroit carmaker pointing out that it blends high-quality materials and hand-crafted appointments, with the latest convenience and safety technologies, such as the CUE infotainment system with a standard 8-inch or an optional 12.3-inch color touch screen with haptic feedback.

Cadillac offers eight different interior environments, each trimmed with authentic wood, carbon fiber or aluminum, while leather seating is available as is a full semi-aniline leather treatment with hand-crafted, cut-and-sewn executions.

For the first time on CTS, Magnetic Ride Control (Cadillac’s real-time damping system) is available on base models. Some versions will also feature active grille shutters to improve aerodynamic performance and enhance fuel efficiency at highway speeds.

Production, and consequently North American sales of the 2014 CTS will begin this fall in GM’s Lansing, Michigan plant.

2013MY Scion 10 Series - 10th Anniversary Editions

Founded in 2002 by Toyota’s North American division to appeal to Generation Y (born from the mid-1970s to the early-2000s) and young (or young-at-heart) consumers in general, Scion has reached its 10th birthday since it launched its first cars into the market, the boxy looking xA hatchback and xB wagon, in 2003.

Every Scion 10 Series car, which include the FR-S, tC, iQ, xB and xD models, will be painted a special premium color named “Silver Ignition”, and will come equipped with LED-illuminated exterior badges that light up when the driver unlocks the car, silver seat belts, a solar-powered illuminated shift knob, a sequentially numbered interior badge and the Scion name illuminated on the dash before fading to reveal the number 10.

In addition, the special edition xB, iQ, and xD will feature unique alloy wheels in a graphite finish, while the Scion 10 Series FR-S will come fitted with HID headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lamps, dual automatic climate controls and a smart key with push-button start ignition as standard.
