The design of the Concept S-Class Coupé shows it’s related to the new S-Class sedan: the shape of the headlights, the side creases and the dashboard layout all remind of Mercedes’ flagship sedan. The size shows it too: at 5,050mm (198.9in) in length, 1,958mm (77in) in width and 1,409mm (55in) in height, the study has a powerful presence, reinforced by the 21-inch wheels.
On the inside, the dashboard has a similar layout to the one in the S-Class and features the 12.3-inch screens from the sedan. There’s also a touch screen showing four world clocks located on the center console. Overall, the entire cabin being dominated by flowing lines, with materials including aluminum, calfskin and hand-woven silk.
The S-Class Coupé is full of advanced technology, with “Intelligent Drive” featuring two “camera eyes” that can get a three-dimensional view of the area up to about 50 meters in front of the vehicle, and as “6DVision” can detect the position and movement of objects. The system monitors the surroundings ahead of the vehicle over a range of up to 500 meters (0.31mi), with data being combined with data from the radar and ultrasound sensors.
The infotainment system of the Concept S-Class Coupé features the MoodGrid software from music recognition service Gracenote makes it possible to listen to whatever music fits the mood. Based on a selected mood, the software compiles a pre-selection of songs from a catalog of 18 million tracks.
